“That fits perfectly!”
“It’s a perfect fit!”
You ever say that? Yeah, me too. Especially when I noticed this today:
Seriously, how could I ever have missed the fact that Popeyes’ biscuits fit perfectly in a small side bowl?
It begs the question, “Was the small side bowl made for the biscuit, or was the biscuit made for the small side bowl?”
To me, it’s like peanut butter and jelly. Peas and carrots. One was made for the other.
Recently, I got an iPad for my birthday, and I love it. There are all sorts of apps out there that help me with staying organized with my lifestyle. There’s a DIRECTV app that I use to schedule recordings when I’m not at home. There’s the WordPress app that I use to blog with when not at the office. There’s Evernote and Dropbox. It’s got it all.
I feel like I was made for my iPad. Or maybe it was made for me.
But that got me to thinking, you and I were made for God. God created you and He created me with a purpose – to worship God. The author of Ecclesiastes tells us that when he writes, “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” Fear God. Have a reverent respect. Ascribe worth and value to God. In essence, worship God.
And the apostle Paul mentions that all things were created through God and for God. For His purposes. For whatever reason He wanted.
You and God? A perfect fit.
The question is, what purpose are you serving?
