Read the Bible for yourself. You get so many messages a day. You hear so much noise.

Every time you think, think what they (in bible) would have done.

(Jesus was listened to by God because of his righteousness – Hebrews)

1 Kings 15.
Two prophets are saying they got words from God.
But one lied; he didn’t really get a word.

There’s this deception.
1 Kings 22. The king is looking into these prophets, wanting to know what God said. (starting in verse 26)
Am I willing to say whatever, to stand on your word?

2 Tim 4. I charge you…preach the word, and be ready.
It’s easy to twist scripture, to make it say what you want it to say.
So often, we use scripture to justify what we want.

Instead, read His word. And do what His word says.

How can we just be sitting around when theres serious things going on?

Session 5. Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
Chan, Piper, Lecrae, Moore, Giglio.

In this session, all five took turns reading the entire book of Ephesians. As an act of worship, Louie suggested we stand for the reading as well. In a culture where we stand to sing and sit to read and hear preaching, it does seem like we have it backwards, doesn’t it?

Here’s a picture from Passion’s twitter page (they didn’t allow use of SLR cameras in the building; otherwise, we would have more amazing shots instead of having to borrow them):

There was a moment, between chapters 4 and 5, that 44,000+ people were silent before God.
Utterly silent.
44,000.
Silent.
