Farewell, Bryan

What do you do when your childhood favorite musician makes a bone-head decision you don’t agree with? You write an ode!

Bryan Adams

Not sure if you’ve seen the news, but Bryan Adams announced yesterday that he has cancelled his April 14th show at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. To say that I’m disheartened would be an understatement. In response, I’d like to present to Bryan (and his less than legion of fans, now) and ode to Bryan entitled “Farewell, Bryan.”

Farewell, Bryan

Here I am, bearing my soul, in a spirit of good conscience leaning

When I finally found someone, I thought it was you, realized I was wrong

You promised long ago, “I do it for you,” but please forgive me when I say

It cuts like a knife when you cancelled your concert this day

I used to say, “I finally found someone,” when I thought of your tunes

But I was wrong to think that you belong to me

So accept this ode, as it comes straight from the heart

I hope you understand, I’m just doing my part

I won’t run to you anymore, baby when you’re gone
