Prayer…is it worth it?

I have to say that I know that there is power in prayer.
Something James and I hear almost everyday is “I don’t know how you are going about your day.” “You amaze me that you are able to still get up and come to work.” Or simply “I don’t know how you do it.”

My honest reply (that I usually say in my head) is, “I’m not doing it.” To be completely honest I would rather stay at home and not face the world. It’s a lot of work to get up each morning, get ready, put a smile on my face, and go into the world. But that’s the thing…I’m not doing that…on my own. That is literally the prayers from people all around the world that help us get up and put that smile on our faces and say, “God is still good.”

We are unbelievably blessed with a faith family that is walking through this season holding our hands. Last night we were so very blessed to have our faith family pray over us and Baby O. As the tears fell all I could say was thank you Jesus for our faith family.

You may be going through a rough season right now. You may question if God is really even there. You may ask if He is even listening to your prayers. I so want to encourage you that it’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to be confused and hurt.

It’s ok

But I also want to encourage you to praise Him. To pray to Him. To allow the Creator of the Universe to hold you in this season. Trust me when I say there is total power in prayer!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, give thanks, because it is God’s will in Christ Jesus that you do this.

  1. So needed this today! I pray God showers you with blessings for stepping out and being true to your season. God is going to faithfully RAIN down blessings on you for YOUR obedience. Thank you for ministering to me and touching my heart when I really needed it.

  2. Mary well said my friend. You have a strong faith and I pray every day to be a more Godly woman as you. Yours and James love and faith is so addictive. I love you and your family more and more everyday.
I pray for you everyday several times a day.

  3. Mary, I think about you and your family everyday! I pray for you every day. I am inspired by you and James! Your blog was beautifully written! Without God we are nothing. When I read God is still good, I smile because I know you and James will be reunited with your children in his Kingdom one day. He is still good❤️

  4. I feel so blessed to be able to witness your daily walk with God. It is so awesome to see you praise him through the good and the bad, in season and out of season. Your praise and your faith provides proof for all who are struggling through whatever situation we may be in. It bears witness that God still sits high and will forever reign. Thank you and James both for reminding us all that God’s love never fails us.
